Elevated Safety is excited to sponsor, and host the Technical Rescue Training (TRT) Competition during the 2023 Palm Beach State Invitational.
The PBSC Invitational is a multi-day, multi-discipline competitive event hosted in Lake Worth, FL. The event is an opportunity for members of public safety agencies to showcase their abilities, compete against peers, and learn in a cooperative environment.
Five competitions will take place including: Technical Rescue Training (TRT) Competition (presented by Elevated Safety), Panther EMS Challenge, NAVRA National Rescue Challenge, Rapid Intervention Crew/Team (RIC/RIT) Competition and a Motorcycle Riding Challenge.
The Technical Rescue Team (TRT) competition will allow teams to showcase their technical rescue skills and their ability to problem solve. There will be a series of “rescues” to be made within a given time frame.
Technical Rescue Training Competition Details
Participants shall be prepared to perform top-down rope rescue, bottom-up rope rescue,
confined space rescue, and rope access (ascending) scenarios. The competition will consist of 5 scenarios. Each scenario has a strict 90-minute time limit. The reading of the scenario objective(s), a question and answer session between the team and the lead evaluator, and the completion of the rescue scenario will all occur during that 90 minute time period.
All team briefings and communications will be done in English. Team captains and evaluators must be fluent in speaking and understanding English.
Teams consist of seven members
- 1 Team Captain
- 4 Rescue team members
- 1 Victim (who remains the victim for the entire two day event)
- 1 Evaluator
The evaluator must be technically competent in the above mentioned skill sets and have
the ability to evaluate a team based on their safe and successful outcome.
