TOWER RESCUE AWARENESS

This 1-day course on Basic Cell Tower Rescue provides firefighters and company officers the knowledge and tools necessary to safely manage the early stages of an emergency response at a cellular/radio communication site.

Course Includes:

  • Tower types and purposes
  • RF hazard awareness, monitoring, and mitigation
  • Tower-climbing techniques and equipment
  • Victim profiles
  • Fire company operations
  • Cellular site fire scenarios
  • Technical rescue operations awareness

Prerequisites:

  • None

TOWER RESCUE OPERATIONS

This 2-day course provides emergency responders with the tools and knowledge to rescue personnel efficiently and safely from tower scenarios. This course is meant for rescuers that may be involved in performing rescuing from towers. This course includes 1-day of classroom learning, and 1-day of hands-on training at a tower location.

This course exceeds the NFPA 1670 and NFPA 1006 standards for Operations Level Tower Rescue.

Prerequisites:

  • Tower Rescue Awareness

TOWER RESCUE TECHNICIAN

This 4-day program is designed to provide operations-level and technician-level skills to all participants. Students will become prepared for emergency response to high-angle rescue incidents involving communications towers, radio towers, and other man-made structures. The course meets all technician-level requirements outlined in the new Tower Rescue Chapter of NFPA 1670 (2017 Edition). Note: State certification is not available.

  • Outlined requirements in Tower Rescue Chapter of NFPA 1670
  • Written and practical tests

TOWER TECH+

“Get busy living or get busy dying”

This course is intended for past graduates of our Tower Rescue Technician 40hr class. During the course, we will look at more challenging anchoring, access, and rescue scenarios…..a level up or “+” from the standard tech level course.

The course is limited to 12 students in order to get the maximum time on the structures. Day 1 will be spent learning how to access, anchor, and conduct rescues on a Monopole. Day 2 will be spent conducting multiple scenarios on a water tower. Day 3 will be back out to our self-support cell tower prop conducting rescues at heights in excess of 200ft.

  • Accessing, anchoring and conducting rescues on a Monopole
  • Conducting scenarios on a water tower
  • Conducting rescues at heights in excess of 200ft

Prerequisites:

  • Successfully graduate Tower Rescue Technician

Target Audience:

  • Authorized climbers and professional tower technicians and those that work in an at-height situations
