Nate is a Co-Managing Director of Elevated Safety, a SPRAT certified Level 3 supervisor, and directs training and rope access arms of Elevated Safety.  Nate is also a Lieutenant with the Palatine Fire Department, a member of the department Technical Rescue Team (TRT), head of the MABAS Division 1 TRT Training Committee, a Rescue Team Manager for IL Task Force 1 overseeing all rope operations for the Task Force.

Nate began instructing for Northeastern Illinois Public Safety Training Academy (NIPSTA)’s technical rescue programs and has been lead instructor at FDIC for Tower Rescue HOT Class since 2017.

When not working with rope systems, Nate is usually found out coaching one of his three kid’s sports or training for and competing in Ironman Triathlons or other endurance events.

Nate served as a Lieutenant in the US Navy from 1999 to 2003 in Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom.

Ross is a SPRAT Level 3 rope access supervisor and serves as Lieutenant with the Arlington Heights Fire Department. Ross is a Squad Leader with  Illinois Urban Search and Rescue Task Force 1 and a member of the MABAS Division 1 technical rescue team and training committee.  Ross  has been working in the rope and specialty rescue arena for the past 10 years. Ross has a tremendous amount of experience working with industrial confined space compliance and rescue, and directs all confined space operations at Elevated Safety.

Ross is a certified Urban Search and Rescue Specialist through the Texas A&M Engineering Extension Service (TEEX).  Ross enjoys spending time with his family, Crossfit and competing in Ironman triathlons and other endurance events.

Tom Wood is the Industrial Project Manager for Harken. A 20 year veteran of the Alpine Rescue Team in Evergreen, Colorado, he also serves as a Terrestrial Rescue Delegate to the International Commission for Alpine Rescue (ICAR) on behalf of the Mountain Rescue Association and is certified to American Institute for Avalanche Research and Education (AIARE) Level 2. Medically certified as a Nationally Registered Emergency Medical Responder (EMR), he is a Society of Professional Rope Access Technicians (SPRAT) Level 3, a SPRAT Board member and a SPRAT Evaluator. A National Wireless Safety Alliance (NWSA) Practical Examiner, Tom is also a freelance writer, published author and photographer. He has a degree in Photojournalism from Kent State University and is a former Combat Photographer for the USMCR. He lives with his wife Maren and their three children in Morrison, Colorado.

Dale is a Level III SPRAT Rope Access Technician and lead instructor for Elevated Safety, serves as a Firefighter/Paramedic in the suburbs outside of Chicago, Illinois, is an active member with the MABAS Division 4 Technical Rescue Team and Illinois Task Force 1 Urban Search & Rescue Team. Dale is a member of Elevated Safety’s Difficult Access & Rescue Team and works throughout the country working as a Level III providing rigging/rescue services. Dale has a passion for all Fire Department special operations and other rescue operations and devotes time in many behind the scenes trade development and training activities. When not working on ropes, Dale can be found SCUBA diving and paddle boarding around Chicago’s Lakefront.

Martin is a Level III SPRAT Rope Access Technician and National Cave Rescue Commission Level III Certified. He is an International Technical Rescue Association (ITRA) Level III instructor & assessor, and is American Mountain Guides Association trained. As a guide, Martin has led many expeditions around the world and has summited the highest mountain in all seven continents. Martin is a former Firefighter, is medically trained as a First Responder and has been volunteering with the Alpine Rescue Team as a Technical Specialist for over six years. Martin teaches SPRAT rope access, rigging and several disciplines of rescue techniques. He loves being on the job site but especially enjoys teaching others new skills. When he is not participating in rope access or rigging, he enjoys mountain biking, rock and ice climbing. Martin lives in Colorado with his very tolerant wife, and two young children.
