SPRAT LEVELS I, II, & III
This 4-day rope access training and 1-day evaluation is for SPRAT Certification, and concludes with an evaluation by a certified SPRAT Evaluator. SPRAT rope access courses teach workers how to safely access structures using two-rope systems, as well as advanced techniques of structural progression and rescue. All three SPRAT Levels are available during each course. All required safety and rope access equipment is provided by Elevated Safety for use during the course.

EVALUATION ONLY:
SPRAT evaluators will be available for SPRAT I, II or III evaluation on last day of session.
Students challenging the SPRAT evaluation for the first time are required to sign up for the entire course.
Signing up for the evaluation day and/or practice days is limited to students recertifying or retaking the test.
Recertification students are required to sign up for the evaluation day and at least one practice day at a minimum. At least 2 days is highly recommended.

FULL COURSE DETAILS
SPRAT LEVEL I: ROPE ACCESS WORKER
The Level I rope access course begins by teaching safe work-at-height practices. The course then progresses into the specifics of working on a two-rope system, including ascending, descending, rope transfers, and rescues. Structural progression using Y-lanyards, anchoring basics, and awareness of the Job Hazard Analysis are also included in the coursework. Pass the Level I field evaluation conducted by a certified SPRAT evaluator on the fifth day.
Prerequisites:
- Passing of Level 1 written Exam
- Four days of rope access instruction by a competent trainer (recommended)
- A head for heights, Good fitness
- No Medical Contraindications
SPRAT LEVEL II: ROPE ACCESS LEAD TECHNICIAN
This course prepares workers to move into the role of lead technician by building on the Level I skills and the worker’s experience. Level II trainees will be introduced to new rescues, hauling, and structural progression by aid climbing. Pass the Level II field evaluation conducted by a certified SPRAT evaluator on the fifth day. Completion of Level II written exam on the fifth day.
Prerequisites:
- Minimum 500 hours and 6 months of documented industrial rope access experience as a Level I Technician required
- Four days of rope access instruction by a competent trainer (recommended)
SPRAT LEVEL III: ROPE ACCESS SUPERVISOR
This is the highest level achieved under the SPRAT program. Significant experience and ability is needed to succeed in Level III training, which includes advanced leadership, rigging, and advanced rescue skills. Pass the Level III field evaluation conducted by a certified SPRAT evaluator on the fifth day. Completion of Level III written exam on the fifth day.

- Minimum 500 hours and 6 months of documented industrial rope access experience as a Level II Technician required
- Four days of rope access instruction by a competent trainer (recommended)

ROPE ACCESS SUPERVISOR
Elevated Safety is excited to introduce the next level of rope access training. This course is geared towards Rope Access Supervisor (SPRAT and IRATA 3 or equivalent). This class looks to bridge the gap between attaining your level 3 certificate and going on to lead a rope access team.
Day 1 will be at our new training facility in Orlando. Some of the topics for the day will include:
- Leadership lessons from the military, fire service, and industrial world
- Rigging physics
- Rescue planning and hazard mitigation
- On-site communications
- Artificial high-directional
- Accident/incident reviews
Day 2 will be spent on real-world structures. We will put the skills learned on Day 1 into practical use. Each student will be expected to be a team leader in multiple scenarios.
Day 3 will again focus on real-world structures. This day will build on Days 1 and 2, explore more difficult scenarios, and deal with some worst-case scenario access and rescue situations.
Proof of SPRAT/IRATA 3 is required.

About SPRAT
The Society of Professional Rope Access Technicians (SPRAT®) is a United States-based non-profit organization dedicated to promoting the safe development of industrial rope access standards. SPRAT supports companies and technicians using rope access in a variety of ways, including certification programs, regulatory support and networking. Membership in the organization is open to any company or individual that uses rope access. Each Elevated Safety trainee receives their first year of associate membership in SPRAT upon completing their evaluation.
