Arborist Rescue

Course Overview

This course is designed to provide critical skills required to successfully execute a rescue of a victim in a tree. Participants will become prepared for emergency response to high-angle arborist rescue incidents.

Day 1 will have a Certified Arborist go through their equipment and the techniques they use while working. Students will practice the techniques they use to become more familiar with them.

Day 2 will focus on “what is on your rig today.”ย  We will go over access, vertical mobility, and horizontal movement utilizing the equipment that Fire Departments traditionally utilize for rope rescue operations. We will also cover spar climbing and access.

Day 3 is scenario-based, and we will discuss spar rescues, pinned-in situations, and other common rescues situations.
