Rope Rescue Operations

Course Overview

This 4 day course provides students with the basic knowledge and skills needed to perform basic rope rescue at the NFPA 1670 & 1006 Operations level.

Course takes place from 0800 – 1800 each day (Four 10 hour days)

Course Includes:

  • Construction of mechanical advantage systems
  • Belay and safety systems
  • Anchor systems
  • Patient packaging
  • Explanation of applicable NFPA standards
  • Understanding of OSHA regulations and ANSI standards
  • Basic rigging concepts
  • Understanding of rope rescue concepts and equipment
  • Casualty assessment

Required Equipment

All required safety and rope access equipment is provided by Elevated Safety.

Reference Manual

Interested students may purchase the Rope Rescue Techniques: Principles and Practice Manual here. Purchasing the book is not mandatory, however it is the reference material for the Illinois Rope Rescue Operations and Rope Rescue Technician classes.

Customer Cancellation and Refund Policy

All cancellations must be made in writing to Kallie.hunt@harken.com. Registrations cancelled prior to 15 days before the start of the course are not subject to a cancellation fee. Registrations canceled 14 to 8 days before the start of the course shall be charged 50% of the course fee. Cancellations 7 or fewer days before the start date of the course will be charged the full course fee. All fees will be processed on the start date of the course.

Attendees have the option to pay for this course by invoice. You will see this option at checkout and will receive the invoice in your confirmation email. Please notify info@elevatedsafety.com within one week that you have received this invoice and provide the following required information.

Customer Cancellation, Refund & Course Transfer Policy

Elevated Safety understands that work schedules, emergency response assignments, shift coverage, illness, and other unexpected circumstances can affect a student's ability to attend a scheduled course. Our cancellation and transfer policy is intended to provide reasonable flexibility while protecting course availability and instructor commitments.

All cancellation and course transfer requests must be submitted in writing to Elevated Safety to Kallie.hunt@harken.com.

Cancellations

Registrations canceled 15 or more calendar days before the course start date are eligible for a 100% refund.

Registrations canceled 8-14 calendar days before the course start date are eligible for a 50% refund.

Registrations canceled 7 or fewer calendar days before the course start date are non-refundable.

Course Transfers

Instead of canceling, students may transfer their registration to another comparable, available Elevated Safety course as follows:

  • 15 or more calendar days before the course: No course-change fee.
  • 8-14 calendar days before the course: $100 course-change fee.
  • 7 or fewer calendar days before the course: $200 course-change fee.

Course transfers are subject to availability and must be requested before the original course begins.

Each registration may be transferred one time and must be used within 12 months of the original course start date.

Once a registration has been transferred, the registration becomes non-refundable and may not be transferred again.

Student Substitutions

Organizations may substitute another qualified student for the originally registered student at no charge, provided Elevated Safety is notified before the course begins and the replacement student meets all applicable course prerequisites.

No-Shows

Students who fail to attend a course without notifying Elevated Safety before the course begins are not eligible for a refund, credit, or course transfer.
