Elevated Safety's industrial rescue training courses cover a number of topics and skills including Advanced Rigging, PPE Inspection, Rope Access for Engineers, Rope Access for Wind Turbine Workers, Rope Access for Communication Tower Workers.



Courses are hands-on and typically include a combination of classroom learning/discussion as well as rescue scenarios and real-world situations.

ADVANCED RIGGING

This two-day course is intended for technical rescuers to take their rope rescue skills to the next level. Blending industrial rope access techniques with lessons learned from real-world situations, this course will prepare attendees to think beyond the NFPA academy courses. This course is hands-on and not recommended for individuals who do not enjoy working at heights. Many advanced skills put the technician in elevated positions to complete the scenario.

  • Cross-hauling systems
  • High-line systems
  • Tensioned rope rescues
  • Pitch-head work
  • Advanced anchoring
  • Clean rigging
  • Gin-pole rigging
  • A-frame rigging
  • Confined spaces
  • Minimalist rescue

 

Prerequisites:

  • Completed Rope Rescue Operations& Technician Levels.
  • Familiar with Petzl I’D and CMC MPD
  • Recommended completion of an industrial rope access (SPRAT) course
  • Physically capable of engaging in rescue activities.

 

PPE INSPECTION

This is an 8-hour class for those who utilize or manage fall protection, rope access and rescue equipment. The course focuses on how to inspect, store, maintain and document equipment used for rope based operations. Upon completion of the class the attendee will be able to maintain and inspect personal protective equipment utilized for rope access and fall protection, set up a use and retirement program for their organization as well as understand how to properly fit and use PPE.

ROPE ACCESS FOR ENGINEERS

This 1 -day rope access and rigging course teaches the skills and use of rope access equipment for the inspection of difficult to reach structures and locations for inspection and maintenance. Instruction will include workplace access assessment, access planning and instruction on the unique and varied equipment that engineers will encounter while conducting their work.

Course Includes:

  • Oversight and execution of risk management
  • Understanding and application of OSHA’s fall protection standards
  • Workplace rigging
  • Emergency response, self-rescue and partner rescue
  • Workplace specific hazards and equipment

 

Prerequisites:

  • Minimum 500 hours and 6 months of documented industrial rope access experience as a Level II Technician required
  • Four days of rope access instruction by a competent trainer (recommended)

 

ROPE ACCESS FOR WIND TURBINE WORKERS

This 1 -day rope access and rigging course teaches the skills and use of rope access equipment for the inspection of difficult to reach structures and locations for inspection and maintenance. Instruction will include workplace access assessment, access planning and instruction on the unique and varied equipment that engineers will encounter while conducting their work. Our customized program includes rope access techniques for working, self/partner rescue procedures, and nacelle emergency evacuation systems.

Course Includes:

  • Oversight and execution of risk management
  • Customized company and site specific policies and procedures
  • Understanding and application of OSHA’s fall protection standards
  • Wind Turbine rope access rigging
  • Nacelle emergency evacuation systems
  • Emergency response, self-rescue and partner rescue
  • Workplace specific hazards and equipment

 

Prerequisites:

  • Minimum 500 hours and 6 months of documented industrial rope access experience as a Level II Technician required

ROPE ACCESS FOR COMMUNICATION TOWER WORKERS

This 1 -day rope access and rigging course teaches the skills and use of rope access equipment for the maintenance and inspection of communication towers. Instruction will include workplace access assessment, access planning and instruction on the unique and varied equipment that tower workers will encounter while conducting their work.

Course Includes:

  • Oversight and execution of risk management
  • Customized company and site specific policies and procedures
  • Understanding and application of OSHA’s fall protection standards
  • Communication tower rope access rigging
  • Emergency response, self-rescue and partner rescue
  • Workplace specific hazards and equipment

 

Prerequisites:

  • Minimum 500 hours and 6 months of documented industrial rope access experience as a Level II Technician required
  • Four days of rope access instruction by a competent trainer (recommended)

 

INTRODUCTION TO WINCHES (4 HOURS)

Join Elevated Safety for our 4-hour Introduction To Winches course. This course will focus on the safe, and effective, operation of the Harken Industrial LokHead Winch, and the Traction Winch.

We will discuss the ways that winches can improve the efficiency of your rescue team, and set these winches up in a variety of configurations to move loads more efficiently. We will also utilize a variety of accessories as well, that further complement the winch capabilities including drill operations, confined space setup, use of the TelluMount and more.
