The purpose of this event is to bring rescuers from all over to demonstrate their rescue skills, learn new techniques, see the newest equipment, and bring a sense of comradery to the rope rescue community.

$600 (approximately 50% of proceeds will benefit the 100 Club of Illinois)

Registration fees include lunch.

Registration fees may be paid at the time of registration, or the team captain can be invoiced.

Competition Info

Teams will compete in five scenarios throughout the day.  Scenarios will be designed around NFPA Rope Rescue Technician skills including ascending and descending rope, reeving highline (tensioned line) systems, litter attendant, and portable anchor usage.  While it is highly recommended that team members be competent in Rope Technician level skills, an NFPA Rope Rescue Technician certification is only required of the team’s designated evaluator.

Teams must provide their own equipment including PPE, rope, and hardware.  Specialized equipment like portable anchors (e.g. tripods) and patient packaging equipment (e.g. litters) will be provided as needed.  A list of recommended equipment will be provided prior to the event.  While some scenarios may include elements of confined space rescue, confined space equipment (e.g., air monitors, fans, SCBA/SABA) will not be required except as may required under the NFPA Rope Rescue Operations and Rope Rescue Technician standards.
