Well folks, it’s official: Elevated Safety is expanding westward. Our brand-new training facility in Colorado is now up and running.
Elevated Safety Colorado – or ES CO if you’re into the whole brevity thing – will feature the same high quality core courses that we developed back in Illinois, like Industrial Rescue (Rope Access/SPRAT I, II and III Certification, Fall Protection, Advanced Rigging and Confined Space) and Fire/Rescue (Advanced Rope Rescue, Arborist Rescue and Tower Rescue). We’ll also feature additional courses in Backcountry Rescue & Rigging (Advanced Artificial High Directionals, Aerial Rescue and Advanced Highlines) that take advantage of the Rocky Mountains in our back yard.
Whether we are teaching in Illinois or Colorado, we still hold fast to the notion that our commitment to safety, access and rescue in the vertical world extends past the classroom, through the training center and out into the real world. Just as in Illinois, our staff here in Colorado is entirely comprised of first responders and rope access and rope rescue practitioners. We are firefighters, mountain rescuers, SPRAT certified rope access techs and ISA certified arborists. We hail from respected local agencies like Aurora Fire, Thornton Fire, South Metro Fire, Elk Creek Fire, the Rocky Mountain Rescue Group and the Alpine Rescue Team.
Our new state of the art facility in Arvada (just minutes west of Denver) is purpose built to maximize the on-rope instruction of our students, no matter what class they are taking. We are proud to be a Petzl Professional Technical Partner (PTP) Program member, and we’ll be working closely with our friends at Petzl to make sure our students can test drive all the latest equipment.
And as a part of the Harken and Cascade Rescue Network, that means we’ll have winches, litters and a whole bunch of cool equipment on hand for product demos and classes.
Lastly, we’ll be having monthly open gym nights for rope techs and rope rescuers looking for a low stress way to knock the rust off, so stay tuned for more on that.
So whether you are a Colorado local or you’d like to check out the majestic Rocky Mountains while getting your rope fix, check out the Elevated Safety course calendar.
We hope to see you soon, stay safe out there.
